The tire and inner tube of the bike arrived with a hole. It is obviously that there is no quality control before the bike is shipped. The company promised to ship a replacement set but a wrong one was sent. It has been four weeks and I am still waiting!

The Assembly Instruction manual was a joke! It fits may be 90% of the parts actually received. Luckily, the assembly was rather easy.

We ordered the Kent Tandem on a Friday, and had it in our hands by Tuesday. Unlike other reviewers -- few in number -- we found no problems in shipping. In fact, having read the (very few) negative reviews, I had my eyes wide open when unpacking the bike to see if I could understand what had happened to those who say the bike was delivered damaged.

The front wheel comes strapped to the front fork, and I believe that if you were not careful removing the bike from the box (it's best, by the way, to just take a carpet knife and cut the box away at the edges, not trying to lift the bike out of an open box), you could very likely bend or even break a spoke. I couldn't understand the (again, very few) negative reviews that said the bike had come with a bent WHEEL. I believe FedEx would have to drop the box down a flight of stairs to do that kind of damage!

Neither the front nor rear tire comes inflated. It is important, before inflating, to make sure the tire valve is center in the rim's valve hole, and that the tube and tire's rim are securely inside the wheel rim. I could see how you could easily cause a blowout if you were not careful taking these steps.

It's also important to fill the tires to the prescribed pressure. You should have a pump that has a pressure gauge built into it. The prescribed range is between 30-50 psi. I filled our tires to about 48 psi, and it is a very comfortable ride.

There is one slight (and I emphasize the word slight) engineering problem: the bike has a "U" shaped guard to protect the rear shifting mechanism, and you must take care to put this guard on. But the bolts that were supplied are about 1/8 inch too long for the chassis, and this originally caused some shifting issues. I took care of this by just putting a couple of penny washers on the outside of the guard. If anyone from Kent is reading this, take a look at this very minor problem.

All in all, my wife and I have already enjoyed some very comfortable and relaxing rides, and plan on spending the rest of the summer, and well into the fall, biking places to which we would previously have driven. We're going out to dinner this week on our Kent Tandem.

I ordered this "bike" for my 11 yr old grandson - he is a special needs kid with Fragile X syndrome, a hereditary learning disability. He has wanted a bicycle but has gotten too big for training wheels. I wasn't sure if he would use the break on the handlebar - but he got on it, we showed him what to do and he took off. It has done wonders for his esteem and loves the wind in his hair and face as he races up and down the street. The ablility to fold the bike in half is excellent for transporting it - the handle bars do not go down so it is still abit tall to get into your vehicle. It is very well made and I recommend it to anyone, it is cool looking on the road - an excellent bike for touring too!

Seems to be a quality item. While not really difficult to assemble, it does take some time and a second set of hands would be helpful. The rear brake needed to be adjusted by more than the adjustment nuts built into the cable sheath would allow, i.e., more of the cable has to be pulled thru at the brake lever (on the rear wheel). We find that inflating the tires to 45 psi works well. A bell or horn should be added for safety. Partly as a joke, we've also added a slow-moving-vehicle sign to back of the basket.
The bike is stable and easy to pedal. "Grammy" (age 73) happily pedals around the development socializing with the neighbors.
We recommend this item.

The shape is too weird. The seat cannot slide back far enough to be comfortable. I tried it on several different bikes. No one in my family felt comfortable - men or women. I ultimately have a useless seat sitting in my shed. I purchased two and need to return the one that still has the tags on.

I live a mile and a half from my office and I have occasionally gotten on my bike and rode it to work. The trouble is that I always felt sore all day even though the ride is not very far. This made me not want to do this very often. I'm at the point in my life where I really need to get some exercise and figured that riding to work would be ideal and would even save some gas money. After searching online for a new bike seat, I settled on this one, based on the other reviews. From first hand experience, I can tell you that this seat has made all the difference in the world. It is very padded and broad and does not have the pointy part that can make a man, shall we say, uncomfortable. I now ride to work often and never have the soreness problem. The seat takes a little getting used to, but once you get over the slight feeling of leaning forward, it is fine. I highly recommend this bike seat. A good product at a good price.

Bought this for my Sister in law who has some diabilities and is unable to drive a car. She was depressed that she couldn't get around on her own or was limited by the distance because she had to walk unless we took her. She now goes all over town and picks up groceries, her medications goes shopping,etc... She has her independance back... I have a piece of mind because of the quality of the bike... I bought a trike from wal-mart for the same money and after bringing it home, took it back the same day because it was junk. I got on amazon and within minutes found this trike. I am very particular on quality and this manufacture put quality and safety first on their list... I am impressed not to mention the price was spectacular. The bike did have some scratches on the side of it and was missing a small fender bolt but I was so pleased with the quality I didn't even care... Thanks Amazon!

I have a 10 year old boy with autisim who can not ride alone, but he loves riding on this bike. We had a tag along bike that was ok when he was smaller, but this is much more stable and easier to ride.
It was pretty easy to put together. The front tire went flat on our first ride though. I put a new tube in and havent had any other problems. Also, the gears need to be adjusted. Out of the box, many gears were unreachable.

I recomend this bike if the second rider is a child. The second seat may be a bit low for an adult.

We have a 1000 foot dock and my old trike had to be retired. Salt water/salt air does its damage. During my cross country cycling trek earlier this year, I tried out one of those Schwinn "no pressure" saddles. The experiment lasted all of 5 miles as I traversed Tallahasee, FL

Waste of time and $20. I know what they are trying to do - which is recreate that short-lived rocker saddle from a few years back, but putting any real torque on this thing causes one (or at least me) to slide right off it - or I'd have to set it at a bizarre angle and not really be able to sit on it. Once I hit the St Marks trail extension, I swapped out my regular saddle and left the Schwinn saddle with the groundskeeper at the St Mark's trail Trailhead. I hoped that maybe someone else can make better use of it.


A for effort, F for execution.

You're really better off getting a real saddle regardless of your physique.

I purchased this for my daughter who is 8 years old and visually impaired. It was difficult for her to ride a 2 wheeler due to her vision, and this is absolutely perfect for her! I bought a Raleigh GRUV bicycle a few months ago so I could do some riding with my girlfriend. The GRUV is an odd looking machine, but it was absolutely the most comfortable bike I test rode. Having not been on a bicycle for over 25 years, I wanted to build some endurance before I got together with my gal for a pleasant weekend ride. After my short "practice" rides in the evenings, I suffered from some mild but noticeable numbness in unmentionable, "manly" areas. I never suffered from this when I was a youngster, so I figured it would pass after I got used to riding again. I figured wrong. I went for my much anticipated weekend "date ride" (about 10 miles worth of nice, paved trails). By the end of the trip, the "comfortable" stock seat on that bike had caused many miserable and painful "sensations". So I did some research and came-up with the Schwinn No Pressure Bicycle Seat. Ordered it right here off of Amazon. Installed easily on the seat post that came with the bike. Took a bit of adjusting to get the height set where I wanted it. It seems more comfortable when it is positioned a little lower than a regular style seat. GOOD LORD what a difference! It does take a bit of getting use to, but once you get the feel of it, you'll love it!! Now I can ride for hours and when I'm done, I don't feel like an alien abduction victim who's been "probed". It's not a 100% solution to the "male pressure" problem - but pretty darn close!! If you're a casual bike rider, looking for a comfortable seat, give this one a shot. I'm betting you (and your private parts) will be much pleased and satisfied!!

So, I read the reviews and shopped around local bike shops and the internet. Who could go wrong with Amazon and the free shipping?

I was concerned about UPS getting it to my home in a reasonable condition. Schwinn really needs to package this bike better, it's very heavy to ship and handle and we all know that they get thrown about in the process of shipment. When I pulled the bike from the Box, it had a few scratches on it due to the packaging falling apart in transit but it wasn't too bad.

Assembly was easy but for the missing parts that had fallen off the bike and out of the box. I paid a visit to my local Ace hardware store to replace the missing pieces. I was lucky enough to have the symmetrical nuts and bolts still in place on the bike to know what I needed at the store.

Probably better that this bike has more professional and clearer instructions for the home builder with the nuts and bolts in bags, but I guess this is supposed to be assembled by bike shops who know what they are doing and have the pieces at hand that they need should any bits be missing.

If you are not handy with little nuts and bolts, bribe the local scout leaders to build it for you.

It is a VERY sturdy Bike, the frame is put together so well I can't image it ever failing due to build quality and as long as you put it together properly, it should last you a very long time. Even though the neighborhood chuckled at it when I first brought it out on to the street, I find myself having a hard time getting a turn on it now.

Even my 7 Year old son can get this moving along safely (with seat and hand bar adjustments with a Allen Wrench).

There are no gears on this model and it is set at a higher gear than you might be used to, but with the sturdy 3 wheel foot print, it's not hard to get rolling and up to speed, which isn't slow at all.

If you've not ridden a 3 wheeler it's a little different when you turn corners and over uneven surfaces, you feel a little taken by surprise when going from the road to the side walk. It's worth getting used to though.

The Brakes are very good and you can refine the adjustments to avoid rubbing pads easily. The rear brake is a shaft pad thingy and isn't as good at keeping it stopped (for parking brake) but is good enough bringing it to a halt safely, the front is excellent though and doesn't need too much effort on the fingers to stop quickly.

The Basket on the back is a little rattly since it's designed to fold down to make room for large boxes.

The Blue Color is quite brilliant and a splendid look, comes with reflectors front and back. All I need now is a Bell for it and it's popularity to drop off so I can ride it more.

I love this Bike.. I need to buy another one (or three)
